These are the numbers from the tag. Someone told me that it may be a deluxe because it has the clock in the dash.
Your help is appreciated.....

Hmm... says it has 6 pop out windows, Deluxe without sunroof and roof windows. Is it a 13 window deluxe? I would say yes it should have deluxe trim.

Yes, you should have the beltline trim.

Your Bus:
1967 Deluxe 13 Window
Born November 8, 1967
Walkthru - Split Front Seat, 2/3 short middle seat
Arrived originally in Boston
Velvet Green/Pearl White - Interior Mesh Platinum/Platinum Silver

What your interior looked like originally (showing full middle seat though, not short):

EDIT: Your bus says it was made in November of '67 but you are missing the rear reverse lights, interesting:

I'm wondering why it doesn't either. The engine compartment still has some of the original green paint....?????

It looks like when they did your McPaint job, they filled the holes for the rear emblem and the beltline trim too, is that the case?

If you look inside your engine compartment, does it look like it ever had the rectangular reverse lights over the tail lights? Is the OG green paint untouched back there?

The bus was not built November 67. It was built November 8, 1966 (early 67 model) and does not have reverse lights because early 67's didnt have them (mostly, there are some exceptions).

The other info provided is correct, and yes, your trim and rear script holes have been filled. Also, the rear bumper is incorrect, I'm sure you're aware.

I wasnt' aware of the bumper being wrong. I'm very new to the vw bus hobby. I've only been involved for about a month and a half. I've owned 4 busses so far.

I did see by doing the research that you are correct in saying that it is an early 67 model. As far as the holes for the vw emblem. There are 4 holes there, it's just hard to tell in the grainy pic. The emblem is inside the truck, but it looks like someone stepped on it a time or two.
I guess I need to go look at some bumpers so I can see what I need to buy. I can take that one off for now.

I can't wait to start stripping the paint from this bus! I do want to paint it back original. I'm hoping to find the original holes for the deluxe trim as well...

I appreciate everyone's help here on the Samba. Great Site and great people!

Leave the bumper on until you find a replacement. You may also be able to trade bumpers the one you have now belongs on an earlier bus. Do a search in the classifeids under "rear hatch script" for split bus and you will find a selection to choose from.

x2. Leave the bumper for now til you find a replacement. What you have on the rear is a 59-65 Slash (or slant) end bumper. What you should have is a 66-67 diamond (or point) end bumper (also seen on late 65's). It has ends that are like your front bumper, pointed vs. slant. In general, rear bumpers are more pricey than fronts. And although the pointed 66-67 bumpers are 2 year only, they are actually easier to come by and slightly cheaper than the 59-65 slant bumper which you have. I'm sure someone that has the incorrect 66-67 rear on their bus would be more than glad to trade for your slant rear.

One more thing, to be specific, you need a deluxe version of the 66-67 bumper that has the trim, like your front one. This will be a bit trickier to find. You'll get by with a non-deluxe one, but if you want to be 100% correct, you need to have the trim. The rear you have right now is not a deluxe version either. Its just a blade, missing the overriders.

If you like the the slash bumpers over the pointy, I would keep the slash bolted on.
Bumpers can always be changed. Slash bumpers flow with the wheel arches.
