What's up with the funky greenish tint on the primer? Is that a special sealer for the nitro paint?

no one willl drill holes - the license plate was just painted on the decklid !

Interesting. I never realised this.
Was the original paint removed from your car, or was it just painted over in the red? The reason I ask, is because today you can actually scan through different layers of paint with x-ray like technology. This is how museums analyse paintings. I wonder if there was any trace of the number plate under the red paint? Would have been the obvious way to trace the number of the car  |

those panels that are already sporting their black jackets look like they are dipped in some sort of magical German candy coating...delicious.

I wonder if they are done done, or if that's just the first coat of paint on them..It's crazy to see pieces in the color in which they once were, and all restored..Makes me wonder what Christian has been doing at the shop? Perhaps getting all of the upholstery in order and all of the wiring?

Hi together,
here is a special update from today. The beetle is in first pre-lacquer.
In the beginning of the next week, Rolf and Ingo (the painter) start with
nitrolacquer in 5 steps.
In the first picture you can see the senior boss Rolf Marschel, a helping guy (i donīt know his name), Mathias Wichens the welder and Ingo Marschel the junior boss of the paitingshop.
Rolf and Ingo make a outstanding work.
Before some people ask: the steering wheel is not the VW38 steeringwheel, itīs only for show...
