Poor Clyde has been neglected as all my attention has been focused on my Thing .
Felt he was due some attention, and he's gotta be ready in time for BBB in Havasu AZ!
So... a long overdue visit to my mechanic to repair a dropped valve seat, Clutch pedal replaced (nut and grooved fittings worn out, pedal was sloppy and rubbed), Carbs balanced, new points, timing adjusted, new vacuum hose on dizzy, general tune up (plugs, oil, filter, valve adjustment, etc...), and a long overdue alignment!
In no time i'll be able to to say "Right Turn Clyde!" and he will actually go right with some torque! I may even scare a few passengers MUHAHA MUHAHA MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! > |

Got my bus some rubbers! (well, tires that is)
Our bus will be taking us all up to PA to spend Christmas with family, and they're predicting some significant snow! My first pair of free Wrangler AT's (postal takeoffs) finally wore down enough that they're not snow worthy. I checked with the local garage that maintains the postal trucks in our town, and there in his pile of takeoffs were two seemingly new tires. I mean the one still has the "mold nubbies" on the tread! Bryan, the great guy who owns the shop, said those two had been plugged already, but the plugs wouldn't seal. I scarfed `em up in a heartbeat for the low, low price of FREE!!!
Took them to a buddie's tire shop and paid him $6 ea. for 2 tubes and $12 ea. to mount & balance. Yeah, that's right --- $36 out the door for two new Goodyear Wrangler AT's !
Merry Christmas to me . . . I'm ready for the snow.

Santa brought a new Steal Your Face decal for the rear window. There was ice buildup on it, so I turned on the heated rear glass to see if it worked before putting the sticker on; it does! So, we keep that glass and the sticker goes on! There's also a new tailgate seal. |

My bay made out like a bandit this Christmas and got her newly-rebuilt 2.0 fi T4 motor and 010 tranny! 'scuse the pic quality and size - I'm new to posting pics here. Engine rebuild by Fred's VW, Naples, FL. Tranny rebuild by Larry Marks, also of Naples. Third pic down was shot the day we dropped the motor, 09/05/09. All others were taken over the holiday weekend.
Happy Holidays

Got this Tool set to start my OWN collection of tools, the one downside was they gave me 2 5/16 Wrenches, and forgot my 10mm (but they can exchange it)
I can't take my father's garage with me when I move so I think it was a good start on my collection. Today I also ordered some heat and sound insulation. Figured I do that in my bus since I was happy with the results in my last one, used the JCWhitney 4ft by 24ft Roll, and I still have some left overs from my last roll. My headliner is a little holy and is due for a replacement anyways. |

Extra long cables for the LM-1. I can hold it and look at it now while driving and Cathy can sit up front when we are testing the mixture. _________________ “Most people don’t know what they’re doing, and a lot of them are really good at it.” - George Carlin |

Pulled her out of the cozy warm garage and drove'er all weekend long.
She's only happy when the wheels are turning, rain or shine.
We got Christmas smiles wherever we went.

Tucked her back in her bed today, a little dirty but she'll get a wash later in the week.
