55-63 front brake shoes...

I just picked up a set of complete front brakes including OG brake shoes. I noticed the shoes dont have the kidney bean hole for the spring, instead being the later 64-67 shoes, does this matter or effect braking?

Here is a set with the correct kidney bean hole for reference.

My 55-63 front brakes work just fine with a round spring holes.
I don't see why you would need the kidney shaped hole, though it might make it easier to install the springs.
