|

This April I am moving from WPAFB in Ohio to Kirtland AFB in New Mexico. Currently my syncro is sitting in Boise. I will be flying up to Boise to pick it up and take my mom to Arches and Moab on the way to Albuquerque.
Can anybody reccomend a shop that my mom could drop off the syncro to in Boise? I'm looking to have all the fluids (coolant, front rear dif, steering, oil) replaced, and a good once over. The 2.1 is running like a champ so I'm not worried about the powerplant. I know it will cost me a bit in labor to have a shop do it, but I won't have the time to do the work during my leave time. _________________ 86' Syncro 2.2 Vanistan, WBXhaust, ski-pole shifter for +11hp |

I've used allans auto before. They did a prepurchase inspection of my syncro westy. He gave a good description of the issues and said it was ready for a road trip. But the van had 2 torn cv boots when I got it.
The owner drives a syncro westy. _________________ 89 Bostig powered syncro westy |

I have had good luck with Wagon Works on Chinden Blvd in Garden City. I spoke a great deal with them ahead of buying my 84 Westy, they offered lots of help and they have done service for me since, although now I have the Bostig in the trunk I do alot more. |

Welcome to NM! Kirtland is a decent base, it has decent facilities as far as a commisarry and BX. Nice thing is it's next to ABQ and not in BFE if you know what I mean. _________________ I have never owned a VW I didn't like, but there have been a few Fords and Chevy's.

Samba friends,
If you are looking for a mechanic most anywhere, start looking at Roadhaus.com.
See comments on "peer reviewed" shops in most every major part of North America.
