$6500 for my all original, all complete, one owner 1976 Westy Deluxe. Probably paid too much as it needs a bit of cosmetic TLC, but I love it!

Well I guess I paid the most yet!!
$8000 for my buddy. Well worth every penny. |
Paid a tiny bit more than you but not a speck of rust (not easy to find around here) and a ton of work was done before we bought her. We wanted something that was not a huge project, but there is still enough to do to keep me busy and happy.

I feel like I paid a lot for mine (4K) after seeing what some of you guys have paid but I think I got a good deal. Mine still has to original paint and very little rust. She has most everything she came with stock (all curtains, rear mosquito net, even the original fire extinguisher) but it was missing both tables, the child cot and the stool. I also had to replace the shocks and put new tires on her and I changed most of the fuel line (I haven't gotten behind the firewall yet) and had the fuel injectors cleaned. I also put Vanagon seats in and new carpet and some other little details. The original tent is still usable but I did buy a new one to replace it when I get the chance. I'm in it for a little over 5K now with no regrets.
This is what the floor looks like under the capet.

I got this bus in running condition with 2 westy interiors, 1 passenger interior, basically two more vanloads of crap to go with it.
condition recieved
current condition (minus a few recent additions) _________________ One day as a lion, or a lifetime as lamb

$1200 in 2001. No rust, apparently had been garaged in AZ. The condition of the rubber supported that claim. No rust, fully functional. It got paint and some interior refurb shortly after these were taken.
I probably have $8000 in it now.

Spent $1200 in '98 - missing the poptop and most camping interior, spraybomb paint job - Big $ back then but I jumped at it cause was a San Diego bus with no Midwest style rot underneath (but plenty in the front floors )
$3k in paint and body work in '99 (which needs to be done again)

paid $1500 for mine in 2007, cost me probably about another $2000 to get it to me here in England.
had most of an early Westy inerior and a knackered Engine
approx $150 for an engine, and maybe $400 to get it up together, legal and back on the road.
front end was smashed up and full of bondo
straightened out now, cost $0 but hours and hours of work
built some new units for inside as I didn't like the Westy stuff, the wardrobe creates a massive blind spot as we drive on the wrong side of the road
Took him round the Formula 1 race track at Spa in Belgium last summer
Will be giving him a full respray once I've finished all the prep on another bus at work |

The guy wanted $100 but I offered $50 and he took it. I drove it home 30 miles. Since then I have installed a new engine. I bought the bus back in 1999. It was a complete bus.

I bought it for $2900 in 2003, sold it for $3900 in 2004, bought it back for $2500 in 2008, spent about $9000 on her restoration. Nearly have enough saved now for a nice new engine. Then she'll finally be ready to go.
