At least it's still snow and easily removed, unlike this poor unlucky Audi:

There was just a story on the news showing a car near a water main break that was covered in ice. The guy was trying to get into it with a hammer and screwdriver. He broke the back window...
I am in CT and getting same snow Storms as NYC. This year has been brutal. I work outside and am constantly getting stuck with my work truck. Getting tired of the one wheel spin. Wish my bucket truck was a syncro!!

I kinda find this hard to relate with. Yesterday morning I went out to get the paper wearing only a pair of shorts. I could see all the way from my house in Pasadena CA out to Catalina Island. So, when I went out I opened the two front windows and the sunroof and enjoyed the day.
I do, however, enjoy pix of snow, and vanagons!

It's 68 here in Denver today, which seems a little strange after skiing all day yesterday. |

We are wussys here in So Cali. I will not tell you just how clear it is. Don't worry, it is supposed to rain in the next days. I am sure there will be all sorts of accidents. So Cal drivers are clueless when it comes to driving in anything other than sun shine.
Just how does a car like that Audi above get so caked in ice? Piss some one off and got water dumped on it? _________________ "Use the SEARCH, Luke" But first visit the Vanagon FAQ!

That Audi was around the corner from my work.A pipe broke and cars splashing through the pond in the street covered it in sub freezing temps. He eventually had it towed after hours of trying to chip off the ice and breaking his back window. _________________ 87 Wolfie

no way man, the cape has not had it that bad, all of the storms have turned to rain... those off use within 10 miles of the cape have gotten screwed.
the snow is now so deep here that I can't open the front doors on one of my vanagons that hasn't been driven. Luckily the syncro has nice big tires on it that can get through it.

in that frigging freezing (double digits down) we had lots of broken water mains (happens every year) and when there are fires they have mega problems as the water freezes so fast on everything. More fires as more individual heaters being run. I figure 2 mths max left, altho sometimes late March can be wicked weather! _________________ '09 2.5L Jetta 5 cylinder, 5 spd, super turbo, see thread in H2O Cooled Jetta, etc...

I'm digging the snow here in Eastern MA! Maybe get some x-country skiing in right out my back door. Got 4 snow tires on my car and on my (Honda) Van. The Westy sleeps, no way is it going out on these roads. 3 times this week stuck behind a sander spreading salt.
I dug the Westy out today. I don't why, it's not going anywhere - maybe you can understand. Good thing I don't have a Syncro, I'd be tempted to drive it, only to hate myself later in the summer when the rust starts!

I work all over the state of CT and the last time we got this much snow was in the winter of 95/96. This year hasn't broken the record yet but I bet it will. I drove up to Bostig last
Monday and it's just as deep as CT in snow. I do feel bad for you MA guys about the salt. As soon as I crossed the border the roads were white from all the salt. If it wasn't for the turbo install I would have my Westy hiding in the garage. I hope the weather clears a little because I will need to put some shake down miles on the new set up. Keeping fingers crosses for a warm up.
On e I vet the van back if anyone in my area wants to take a drive in a 2wd Zetec turbo let me know. I would love to show it off and let you take a spin behind the wheel. |

Don't listen to this guy, I know him, he's trying to poison all of you!
Bill, you know I'm up for a drive! Well...then I'd be breaking my friend's rule, "Don;t drive any vehicle nicer than what you own".
