As much as Russ' bug is not my style in the slightest the level of detail on that car is amazing which is why it's ended up in magazines.
I know he's won over 30 trophys with it just in the last couple of years.
It's actually just been sold.

you can polish a turd, but in the end its still a turd |
That turd looks like it was polished with another turd. |

As far as I can tell, it's a curved-glass Super Beetle with the decklid off a '67 and the rear bumper and taillights off a standard fatchick circa 1968-71. It's way better than the curved-glass Super with a W decklid and pre-'67 rear sheet metal I saw yesterday and wish I could have gotten a picture of. |
I have to agree. The car is a 73 super *as per signature* and those are 72 and down tail lights, a 67 decklid, then you have the fact that there is no fender welting AND, if you look close (like a build thread) its going to have fuchs on it
oh the huge manatee |
What makes it all the more tragic is the complete and total non-reversability of the modifications, and the fact that late fatchicks are so utterly hard to come by |
Haha to bad you guys can't see the real hack. I couldn't get the sunroof drain tube back down the pillar (because I pulled it out, like a dumbass). So I ran it over to the other one with a T-fitting. It shouldn't see to much rain anyhow. |
You must have annoyed a lot of people if that's your car, here in the abortions thread. If I ever post pictures of my cabriolet on thesamba I'll just cut to the chase and put them here. It's mildly bastardized, and made of clips from two different cars; based on what I've seen that must earmark it for the abortions thread. |
Haha naw, I posted it myself first a while back. It just got painted and I posted updates (in here). The first time around someone said they didn't see anything wrong so I call that a win. _________________ http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=366056 - My '73 Super Build. 2332cc, 16" Fuchs |

I don't think that "schmiggity" is a real word. I think I will call a moderator
and have him make you quit saying things like that. |

Much better proportions than the yellow one that was recently discussed and torn apart.
This one only needs different wheels, different tail lights, some sort of bumpers, and to be set free from that ungodly smothering of green paint. Maybe dove blue, or Anthracite grey?
Any more pics from other angles? _________________ nothing |
