picked it up at a VW auction this past weekend; more pix in my gallery...

That looks like a Bozal aftermarket exhaust system. Had two in sucsession on the Square many years ago. They worked pretty well but seemed to rust quickly - at least down by the coast were I grew up. Wonder how it ended up in your neck of the woods...

I had exactly the same exhaust on my ex-Fastback, they get loud when they get old Laughing

I know of a guy who has a brand new one of these, but wants a crazy amount for it Rolling Eyes

you make great stuff but in my opinion you are way to expensive on alot of things
(700$ for spindles, almost $300 for trunk liner repop..Whoa...)
but lets not get into that

give me some time to get measurements
and someone with an early get me a length of chrome to go off of for correct length

i will make a design for the full length scallop in the above pictures

Bert3 already has some bottom T3 stripes for sale and they look great
(look into his ads)

I don't take that offensive Smile

Everything is expensive over here - my mother-in-law lives in Texas
Everytime my girlfiend visits her she brings home 2 bags of clothes, shoes, parts etc. home with her

You will be amased at the small profit percentage on those spindles...
I actually just paid my bill for the material this afternoon - I guess I'll have to eat fries at MCD for Christmass Rolling Eyes

If anyone else want to tackle this I'll buy a set for support

How does one determine "too expensive" when there's no other source out there? You either want it, or you don't. It's not like you can get it cheaper at Redneck Autohaus. Rolling Eyes

I was just offered these, I'm not really sure if they are actually type 3, and also, are they symmetrical or not? might be an optical effect but they all seem like they are from the same side? Confused

I was lucky enough to snag this older repop early style dash pad. Way better looking than the new EMPI ones.

If I remember correctly, this was a WCM deal a long time ago. It has a metal insert in the middle that is perforated where the mock speaker grill is. If you look closely, there are screw heads molded into the mounting tabs. Here's a shot of the back.

I have one of those too. They're really nice repros. Unfortunately the moron I bought mine from cut it out of the car instead of unscrewing the screws and removing it properly. Of course, that little fact was overlooked in the pics and description. I'm hoping to be able to cover the damage.

Yeah it's surprisingly nice. I am curious how they went about repopping these because if it was done once, I'm sure it could be done again. I've heard these are a pain to get on though...

You need to leave them in the sun for a few hours to get them more pliable. A hairdryer during installation works also. Having the windshield out is ideal.

That's the same one I have in my Notch that I painted red. I think it was originally molded from a dash that was installed in a car. Notice the screws are embedded in the tabs. Too bad these aren't made any more because they fit a lot better than the current POS that's on the market. I bought one of those before this one, and it started shrinking and tore along the front edge where it attaches with the chrome trim.

My guess is they had some sort of jig that they screwed the dash into originally to hold its form while they cast the mold over it. The ends of the dash seem to have a double molded end like it was too short and they had to add a bit too it. Does yours have this? I can post a closer picture if needed.

One end of my dash is missing. Maybe a 1/4 or less. Looks like it was torn off at some point. It's not that noticeable and still better then the other replacement dash!
