Is there a way to visually check the condition of the valve seats once the head is removed?
Thanks

The only way i can think of is to use a valve spring compressor tool, get one at a good auto parts store. these grab the spring and you wind the handle down which pushes the valve open so you can have a look-see at the seat. you can also pull out the retaining clips to at this point freeing the valve from the spring.
