It looks like it would have been fairly solid before it was dumped.

They'll most likely crumble at the touch.

True. Depends on the humidity VS temp in that area, I suppose.

I just noticed something else. That appears to have been an actual Kombi, with hard board interior panels. If they can be salvaged, they are probably worth getting. Not rare, but certainly uncommon.

Shit. I have contraband holding a bunch of floor tiles out in the shop. Gonna have to bury it all in the backyard now. I should wait until the cover of night, so as not to be detected by satellite pics. I promise not to sit on any of them, especially outside a hair salon.

An original paint, relatively straight and complete 62? Turkis beetle. I hope that it either had an unobtainable title, or was way worse than it appeared to have suffered that fate. And I am not even a beetle guy.

Yeah it was shot..no engine, no title, rotted out pan and frame head, door hinges welded to the body, rusted out package tray and no heater channels. I kept anything that was somewhat "salvagable" and most of that went to friends for their projects. If it was remotely saveable, I would be driving it today the way it looked just lowered and decent bumpers.

I would have fixed the rust on that one. It's not everyday you come across a 62.

should've, could've, would've
Most people wouldn't even bother giving a car like this a second look, it sounds to me like this guys did the right thing and saved a couple of more cars by saving a few good parts from this one.
