I have a 79 bus, passenger model, so this didn't come with a cot or curtains.

the cot I installed does not have the adjustable poles
the curtains I installed are from a Vanagon Westfalia

the issue im having is that when the cot is in place, the curtains cannot naturally sag down in the corners by the windshield.

it makes it where the curtains are pulled up around the cot poles and will probably allow a lot of light come through the windshield.

is this just not a problem with the stock baywindow curtains? I don't remember if they had a slit in them just for this purpose or?

before I cut a notch in them, am I missing anything?

Yes it did have slits. If you need to know where, they're are good directions here.
