That chit is nice. |
Haha, thx, it is pretty thick, prolly 1/8" thick. Its good because its lightweight and strong. My brother's rail has a thick steel diamond plate floor and its heavy. _________________ 1963 Ragtop Bug |

Just about wrapped up the motor. Ordered new PP, clutch and TO bearing and should be coming this week. Hopefully get it in by next weekend. Won't be long before it gets dirty.

Love the white jackstands
I really like the way this rail looks without the body panels, im curious to see if it looks better or worse with them on.
Anyways great build. |

Thanks guys..yea I gotta see about the body panels too. They do keep a lot of sand and mud out of the inside... I hope _________________ 1963 Ragtop Bug |

What type of front end is that? I'm new to rails and i like the dual stabilizers. |
edit: Replied before I got past page one. DOH. So, uh, cool rail! I never read the whole thread, but I did this time! I was hoping to see you clean up those wheels as it is something I need to do, too. Oh well. Good replacements. _________________ ---

Yea I didn't feel like using the crusty front wheels. And Im not even crazy about the rears either. I hate steel wagon wheels, so we'll see what happens with them. _________________ 1963 Ragtop Bug |

Finally got the motor in the rail. I think Im gonna need to change the fuel pump because when I ran it it, it didn't suck up the gas out of the can. Might relocate the oil filters b/c they hit up against the aircleaner. The left aircleaner is pretty close to the left bar too

Haha, that's a good question..Im not sure to be honest..I may be switching to a single filter mount b/c I need the space. _________________ 1963 Ragtop Bug |

Got a fat battery cable from a swap meet a couple years ago for $10. Kid I got if from said it was from a BMW. Its long enough for the rail.

Got some mudders for the front for $20 Also gonna put these $15 KCs on to replace the front ones.
Gonna use these utility lights as reverse lights. They are nice, they have a thick rubber backing around them.

Looks good. I just have a single light in the back, never thought about more light. Might be nice. |
