I'd get a complete BD from Gerson and section the #'s in... that's what you'll end up doing anyway! |
Thats the only way to do it or save your $$$$ till the real deal becomes available, you wont have to wait too long.
The real deal will always be more desirable than a repop |

Seems as if the van suffered from heavy rust damages during its years of active service and was repaired for some TÜV inspection.
Look how some prof welded in a complete lower bulkhead wall made of flat thick sheet steel.
Yes, Holert is/was a big German tyre seller´s name. |

Its the rusty scraps of a 52 panel, The only way it is worth doing is if you can sweet talk Gerson in to making you a complete bd panel at a bargain price and why would you/he do that? 52 panels are not too hard to find. This is a joke and I am surprised how gullible some folks are |
I know he was probably joking, I know JD. But I also know he's a nutter. Its the other two projects that put me off most. I think you underestimate the madness thats happening around BDs today. There's some pretty shocking restos going on over here, Jurgens samba, and what about the 54 field cart (even though he started with something that looked ok ) plus there's at least 2 barndoors that gerson has built up from a chassis number already. If I had nothing better to do and got that for FREE! Then I'd be temped to fix it. I recon it would be worth more then the panels still. I think there is still a good demand for a barndoor that is Garenteed to be solid throughout and last another 60 years.
As for rarity. JD forgot to mention it's a RHD ragtop. Well prove it isn't |

Well like I said. I'd probably give it a go if I had it for free. Kind of like a subscription build. Treat myself to a panel a month till it was finished. so I think you may underestimate mad people like me |

Ben,
do you need an adequate engine lid for the Holert panel?
Necro Style is THE thing to rule the scene for the next 3 decades!!!
Poor folks who still think Ratlook is the fashion to follow ...

I am dying to know what the logos looked like on a Holert panel. There has got to be a picture somewhere of one of these back in the day. JohnnyD, is/was Holert a large company? Haven't seen one of these in the vintage pics thread, but still scanning. _________________ Learn to weld and make rust your B*tch |

I think it was yes, as they even advertised their products on letters send by Bundespost!! also, Wiking made a Mercedes delivery Truck from Holert Reifen, so maybe, J. will find a VW modelcar (Brekina / Wiking??) with their add on it??
EDIT : ...put a TOY in the TOY gallery, OK, it's a Mercedes, BUT I mentioned it was for the Barndoor Forums, for THIS Holert topic, well, webmaster removes it... thanks...
J., the truck is on E*bay, see link:
