A friend of mine that knows of my Vanagon passion saw this at a local hobby shop that's going out of business and picked it up for me. I thought you all might get a kick out of it.

Please see this post regarding back end sag. The spacers on yours will need to be a bit smaller.

Needs a small puddle of coolant under it to be authentic.

Oooh!

Nice little details.

Walthers.com also has a couple more Vanagon models in HO scale.
There is the military ambulance you show.. and there is one blue and one orange (2-tone) van each.

I recall there being a pop top version.. but not a westy style pop top. More like a countryhomes style

Now if you're wanting bays and /or splittes.. there's even more to choose from.
My favorite, on my shelf, is the red/white splittie with red/white Westy trailer.

I am thinking of adding a bus, bug, and van goldmine to our train layout. Laughing

There's a toy thread here somwhere...

DON'TTAKEITOUTOFTHEBOX! Oh, no - too late. Fingerprints.

Syncro, though - nice! Even missing the antenna - very authentic!

Do you have the load lights & mirrors? That would be bonus...

I am more partial to this beauty- http://www.germanaircooled.com/cart/index.php?page...4064edce49
I have a bunch of early busses and type 3 models but no vanagon body models yet.
These tiny models could be found in places that are into scale model train props.

Since your mileage is obviously very low, you probably won't have to worry about VANAGON SYNDROME. I think you might, however, be able to get a model Subaru engine to swap in if I am wrong on that.

Make sure to replace the 3/4 gear slider before you blow that tranny. It's even more important in a plastic gearbox - - a known failure point.
