Asking this for a buddy. I've been drivining buggies for 18 years so not a lot of experience fitting tires on a Beetle.
We're trying to fit 215/65/15s on the back of his car, a 64 that's been lowered one notch in the back. The wheels will probably be Empi 5 spokes.
Would like to hear from anyone running this combo about fitment issues. Or if oyu're running this size tire, what wheels are you using?
Thanks,

215/65R15's on a buggy in the reat should be fine. though if it's lowered he might get a little rubbing on heavy cornering or if he hits a speed bump too hard.
and I say "might" because buggy's have a lot of room between the tire and the fender
other than that he should be fine. _________________ Technician / Mechanic / Specialist

I think slalombuggy is asking about a Beetle.
Here is a similar post for reference.

Ya, it's on a Beetle. VWnut, thanks that's pretty much what I'm after for my buds car. We're both running 21/65s on out buggies, his are brand new and he's selling the car so wants to keep the tires if he can. Althought the 165/50s are a little small for the front

HERES MY 64' WITH 225/60/15 ON 6.5 BRM's they clear fine, with 1 click out of the torsions, i ran 215-65-15's and moved up to this , the only difference is .4 in hight, and .3 in section width, it doesent sond like alot, but when you see both tires mounted and on the car theres more of a visual difference, and the 6.5 rim width over the 5.5 opens the tires up for a less squeezed look,
