The "Turbo Look" (Turbo body work but normal NA engine) was first offered in 1984 from the factory.
Yours was most likely done aftermarket. _________________ Glenn

I also have a 1980 911sc that I just got. Mine is a targa with a convertible conversion and turbo fenders welded on. Porsche did make a special edition Weissach in 1980 that was the porsche turbo body with the sc engine(3.0). This model only came in two colors and had a tail and special interior. _________________ 67 Bug w/2110

I don't recall the Weissach Edition ever being a wide body. |

The Weissach was a 930 body (turbo body) not a "wide body". _________________ 67 Bug w/2110

The turbo body IS a wide body. Just like the turbo look of 1984 and on. |

I keep reading they used the turbo body but the front and rear flares don't look anywhere near as wide as the turbo flares. |

Yea they aren't. From what I can see they are not even flared in the front and only about 2in in the rear. The ones on my car are about 2 in in front and 4in in the rear. _________________ 67 Bug w/2110

i happen to own a 1984 factory turbo look car. here is a picture
compared to the 1975 930 clone car i had. the previous owner bought every part at the dealer to convert it.
converted cars are really really common, you probably see more converted ones than real turbo look or 930 cars. having owned both, the factory built car drives like a porsche should. the converted car is not the same. narrow body trailing arms with thick wheel spacers, smaller brakes, lots of other differences and though the car was super nice and sold for 23k i would take my 84 any day over it.
and a side by side shot

you are correct. the weissach had large rear flares (not as large as the turbo) and standard SC front fenders _________________ Jesus Saves
