I have a seized deck lid hinge. I have hit it with PB Blaster and heat and I can't get it to move. it looks like it has two welds on the back side attaching it to the lid. Lid got bent trying to open it. Should I drill out welds and take hinge off or try and drillout center of hinge and replace I with some new appropriately sized rod. Lid will need to be straightened and filled. Any suggestions are welcome.

The hinge is like that on the doors. Use a drive punch or a small drill bit or hardened drill rod and drive that hinge pin out.

Hey Locky,

albiet I'm not currently working on a door hinge, my 95' F150's brake
bleeder nipples are in about the same condition, frozen.

If you keep spraying the hinges, in time it should break free, Time here
is the key.

On my truck, it's been about 2 weeks of (not exactly every day spraying) but I've managed to get one loose, and it was easily broke free once the spray did its job.

Just took a lot of time.

Keep them hinges wet with some sort of oil or nut buster fluid once it's ready it'll break free.
The problem is these frozen parts are never ready to break when YOU are.

Plan b: drill it/grind it/pound it, etc.

Good luck
T

my suggestions is take the hinge off the body at the screw. Lay the lid on it side and spray the hell out of it. Repete for days alternating sides. Worse case senareo is you drill the pin out. They are easy to find and replace
