|
|
So at work we recently got three 2011 Jetta wagons as pool vehicles, and I have to say, I love the seats so much, I want to buy a set for replacing the stock clunkers in my doka.
So firm and supportive, they are amazing.
They must be cheaper than some of the performance seats out there too.
A few questions are:
Where to buy them, is there a parts breaker/source for 5th gen jetta's (besides ebay)?
Where do I get parts nos.? Is there an online fiche source for modern vw's?
Installation: anyone familiar with how they go in? Do the body mounted seat rails bolt in, or is welding needed?
thx

Buying new will be the same price as a Recaro. You'll want to snatch some older ones or wait until a few get wrecked. Nice seats go for about $200 a pair from the wrecker.
I'm about half done installing some '00 golf seats. It's not easy. You best have some fab tools and skills. I'll make sure to post my progress. |

check ebay. lots of seats there. 2011 Jetta seats might be a little rare, but I'm sure people are crashing their vehicles as we speak. _________________ Joe

But how will they look in the van, and what about arm rests? _________________ On a mission, the destination is just an excuse.

My doka was originally without armrests. They do help I admit, but long trips need good seats. |
