I have a 74 ghia convertible and had no clearance issues installing a tri-mil eurosport. My engine and bay is pretty much stock.

I just installed a non stock exhaust and am womdering about the tubing being too close to the underside of the engine bay. After letting it idle for about 10 minutes the bay metal above the muffler gets very hot almost too hot to touch. Im not that familiar with Ghias but is this normal for them or something to be concerned about?

cmarino, I wouldn't let the cute yellow stripes and tip insides influence your choice too much. The stripes are pretty far under the car and the tip insides will be carbon color in 5 miles.
If you plan carb and other mild upgrades a ceramic coated quiet power system from a quality source will serve you best.
