Well, it wasn't the overtime thriller I was hoping for, but I'm glad for Tim Thomas and Mark Recchi. Congrats to Vancouver for a great season and congrats to the B's for winning The Cup.
How the hell does Gary Bettman keep a smile on his face when where ever he goes, what ever he's doing, he gets the hell booed out of him? My wife asked me why the fans were booing The Cup. I said they're not, they're booing the midget. (no offense to midgets, or little people if you will) |
X2, great game/series and great effort by 2 awesome teams, seems the better team (or goaltender) won, I had to answer the "booing the cup?" question too.
Too bad a few punks are burning tipped over police cars and looting now, puts a real downer on what was otherwise a spring to remember for good reasons  Find something constructive to do assholes!

See the BEST team did win. CONGRATS Bruins. The riots in Vancouver would have happened even if they had won. They just riot in Van. I really don't remember the Canucks being around 40 years! Brain must have stopped working decades before I realized it

I watched the game at a friend's house while enjoying beers and venison smokies. The first two periods were interesting, but the third period was pretty boring. Bettman must have the thickest skin of any human on earth. Not sure how he does it.
As I was leaving for home, my friend asked "what are we going to do till October?" I didn't have an answer for him.
Congrats to the Bruins. It was a great series, and Tim Thomas is an amazing goaltender that deserved the MVP, win or lose. I felt bad for Kessler, as he seemed to be the only Canuck that really worked hard the entire game.

You know that they would have rioted regardless. I don't think it's so much that Vancouverites are the rioters, it's a meca for street people and pan handlers because of its temperate climate. Mtl hockey fans have been known to riot also but there are other excuses there too.
Don't judge the city residents for the riot. They were expected to riot win or lose. Toronto had some lighter rioting over the G8 and G20 summits and most of the "bad people" were not from around Toronto. The police in our instance were overly brutal where not indicated and did nothing where indicated. There is a mobile tribe of rioters and they'll hit your city sooner or later unless these rioters are scared of your officers and perhaps they are.
