Specs quick run down:
96mm P/C from Rocky, rebushed rebuild rods, 80mm dpr stroker, custom cam, blueprinted oil pump, ported plenum, runners, custom ported heads, balanced, etc. etc. Rocky is very detail oriented and does all his own machine work in house. It looks perfect!
Our shop, Wagon Works Boise, has installed a few go westy 2.2, and 2.3 engines so this will be interesting to compare to. We have also installed 5 Tiicos and worked on lots of Suby engine conversions.
As son of the shop owner, I have my options. You can see what engine I chose. I can handle any conversion out there, and my calculations show this to be the best value for ME. No custom suby to van hoses, no african ECUs to burn out, no cobbed up mounts, no hanging oil pan, etc. I will have the van VW should have build and I can repair and maintain it with stock VW parts.

I want to hear how it compares to the 2.3 GW motor.
I could care less about the Tiicos |

Please contact Rocky directly for a price quote. The cost was in line with what other stroker wassers are going for.
Rocky does all his own machine work and has his own flow bench. He developed the head porting package and camshaft together. The best money spent on an engine is on the head porting. That is Rocky's specialty.

The old engine has been pulled, and we are about half done swapping parts over to the new longblock. Flushed the coolant system. Had the injectors ultra sonic cleaned. Replaced the fuel lines. New coolant lines and t-stat. New rear heater valve. Tons of little things (new starter, resealed transaxle...). Should be running Monday evening, or Tuesday if we have hang up. I've got pics of the progress to post, just need to download.

A crappy cell phone pic to keep you guys looking. I will upload better pics tonight. Our shop had a busy week working on customers cars so my van has been sitting sad with an 80% finished engine install. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be breaking it in.
