'Kinda like Sterling Moss' famous quote, "Great gains can be achieved with the addition of lightness" or something like that.

The shop I work at is a Lubro-Moly distributor and we use MoS-2.We use it from the get go when rebuilding a trans. Not sure if it helps or not, as we never have had a transmission come back needing to be torn apart.

i've used something similar in a posche tranny and it still shifts awesome.
this tranny was run dry and 5th gear siezed to the bearing, which was replaced along with the gear set.

since the lubro-moly isn't going to mix with the oil, i wouldn't think it would interfear with the additive package already engienered into the gear oil.

anyone running sweepo in their bus? i think i remember someone saying that it was too slick and caused shifting problems?

I tried Lucas in my '71 baywindow 002 transmission. Lost 4th gear so I bought a used trans from a friend of mine who told me he knew the trans was good. Put in fresh GL-4. Fired the bus up for a test spin and the transmission was howling like a mofo. Especially in 3rd and reverse. Out of desperation I added a quart of Lucas oil stabilizer and like a previous poster stated, got like a 40% reduction in noise right away. O.K., but still louder than I would like.

After 3 months of running my bus hard almost every day, the transmission noise is gone. So I can say I am happy with the results for my situation. Used trans was sitting for years. Probably needed to get that oil circulated around all the gears and bearings. Try Lucas in a transmission that has been sitting.

Before an hour ago, I had a howling rind and pinion. It was a 10 year old Rancho built trans in a 67 Beetle that was ran low on oil a few years back.

When I drained the oil, it had alot of syncro flakes in it.

Did a change from synthetic to GL5, and added the Lucas additive.

Howling has stopped. Almost.....

I'm happy....
