I can't wait for the DVD! I'm going to dress up in costume, memorize every scene, and reenact it in all its glory... Some day... Sad

Ive been searching and I cant find an exploded view of the steering column. Anyone have one for my 59? I pulled the column apart and I have a bearing in there. I called Kochs, and he said that it might have been added to get rid of some of the slop in the column by the P.O. I have owned the car since '86. It is a 59 colum because my OG 59 steering wheel fits on it. I just want to make sure I put it back together correctly. Thank you
Mike

No bearing- should just be a solid plastic bearing piece with criss cross slits- this gets lightly greased and slid down and seated in the expanded part of the tube. On goes the wheel, washer, nut and horn button.
Then install the turn signal switch with a 1.5- 2mm gap between switch and the wheel. Wah lah

Cool! I knew about the plastic bushing. So it goes over the steering shaft before the splines and then slid into the column tube? Thank you!

I gotta ask... It's been a long time since any new "discoveries" were made. Have we actually hit everything? Thinking back, I wonder if anyone ever found the time to flip through the accessories catalog to see if there were any accessories specific to us, or if the engine differences were thoroughly addressed...

What about the "Cigar" ash trays, did we prove they were "Factory" for 58/59, and optional for later years.. Think

In my mind, that ended such that we won't know unless there is some factory documentation (all documentation available to us has been referenced, and no applicable information was found) and while it's correct either way, the cigar ash tray is more correct... I'm prepping one of each for "correctness" and for utility (the cigar ash tray really isn't that useful if you don't smoke cigars) and the off chance that the cigar ash tray is decided to be somehow not 100% correct.

The current info I have for you Ricardo, is that your 58 was built 7/9/58, was for the "Swedish" market, and is Glacier Blue? I will scan the list and post what I have next week, and if anyone who is on the list wants to add any missing info, you can PM me.

Dang! That is a nice car! Ours could almost be twins.
Sorry for the delay, finally got some shots of the interior. Not 100% original but close enough..
