I'm a bit biased, but I think Turkis was one of VW's finest colors.
Every photo will show a different shade of that color, depending on the light, camera, and how faded the paint is. _________________ Copyright CJ Industries, Inc.

Don't worry, I am not threatening anyone with ball kicking, EZ Gruv is.
What color was your bus originally? If you are doing a correct restoration, you would be smart to go with that color. If you are just making the bus nice again, pick any color YOU want. What we think has little bearing on this.
I like Turkis, but only single tone. I have never cared for turkis/blue white combo. Not sure why. And, like Culito said, different lighting, camera, and monitor will affect how the color looks on your computer. You need to see a clean original or correctly painted bus in the daylight, outdoors, to get a real feel for the color. _________________ nothing |

I just realized something. That forward cargo door is very inconveniently positioned. _________________ nothing |

It looks Turquoise to me.
I can't state whether it is dead-on correct as that is near impossible to determine from an online photo. As stated above bby other people, lighting, sun glare, etc. could be distorting what you see.
Off the top of my head, it looks really green as compared to original paint Buses I have seen.
The 23-Window photos above looks the same as my original paint 15-Window:

I don't go to every show in WA, but in the last few years I haven't seen this bus around. I wonder if it's still in WA?
On my laptop, the original post pic looks two shades lighter than stock but it could be because it's a respray. _________________ It's not how wide your hatch is, it's what you do with it.

L380 Turquoise takes on many different hues as it ages- some more green- others blue. Not too helpful- but on a slightly overcast day- this bug does not look at all like the one in my avatar...

Since we're on the subject of Turkis, I've decided to paint my '61 DC completely Turkis. I like the original stock color. I've recently seen some repaints of Turkis and I suppose depending on what paint manufacturer you use, the color can come out dark. I'm painting the wheels an off white probably similar to the blue/white and the pressed bumpers either solid turkis or two tone. Later I plan on putting the deluxe trim all the way around with white canopy. What do you think about this color combo? Should I keep the bumpers solid Turkis, Blue/white, or two tone them? _________________ VW Collector1

Tough call on the pressed bumpers. I like the clean look of solid blue-white but pressed bumpers look good two-toned. I don't think I've ever seen one turkis / blue-white. _________________ Copyright CJ Industries, Inc.

On your custom Double Cab I would still use the stock Silver White for the wheels.
Blue-White would probably look ok too, as it's somewhat subtle.
If the ribbed bumpers are going to have Deluxe trim, then I'd go solid Silver White + the trim.
Otherwise I'd go either solid Silver White or Turquoise outers with Silver White raised ribs.
Substitute Blue-White if you use Blue-White on the wheels, they should match.
I've seen people use solid color ribbed bumpers with no trim, for example Sealing Wax Red, on another Double Cab and it doesn't look right to have the bumpers match the paint. _________________ How to Post Photos

There can't be too many of that color combo/vintage/quality/etc/etc in Washington state, and I'm pretty certain that bus in particular came up for sale here on samba within the last year at really fair price. Could be wrong though. |

You might be thinking of Shawn in Tacoma's (westernair) bus, but this is not it (as far as I can tell).
They are very similar though.

+1
I'd also think about ditching the deluxe trim idea. Trucks are fer workin', not blingin'. _________________ Copyright CJ Industries, Inc.
