Well it's down to the wire and as most know I broke my 2276cc engine at the Salt last year in my quest to get into the 130 mph club. This year with the help of Geoff Hart Racing, Ronnie at Bustoration and Matt A. who's building the engine I hope to achieve my goal. The engine will be a 2332cc with some CB Super Pro heads with Titanium valves and Pauter 1.4 to 1 roller tip rockers, and over 13 to 1 comp ratio. Cam is still to be determined and I'll run my ACE prepared 48 IDA Webers. I can't say how much I appreciate all of the work and help that Matt, Ronnie, and Jeoff have donated to my effort.
I still need an ignition sysyem and Matt says a MSD Box and Distributor would be "Bitchen".
So if anyone has one for sale or something I can borrow now and maybe pay for before the event it would really help. My money tree is wilting.
I'm really looking forward to this year on the salt, it promises to be a great time. _________________ 71 Westy Roadcow

That motor should haul a$$ Britt. You thinking something like an FK87-89 or are you going whole hog like a 98. My new motor's still in pieces. Finally getting around to doing some small stuff on it. Good luck this year. If I could I'd shake the money tree for you!!

Thanks Brad!
Got the darned tree shook as hard as possible and back on track. The engine had an FK-89 but it just came out for ma "mystery cam" honestly don't know what it is. I'm going down next week to see the progress. _________________ 71 Westy Roadcow

OOOOWWWW "Mystery cams" Gotta love 'em. Wish I could join y'all this year but after building or rebuildinng and prepping 4 cars for the last 4 years, I needed to get some other stuff done, get some racing in (you know, what I built my car for) and recharge my batteries for next year.
Good luck Britt, I really hope you hit 130 this year. You were so close last year I'm sure you could taste it. Hopefully that last 8mph gets found. I'll be cheering for you from The Great White North
Go get 'em :2gunfire:

We'll miss you this year on the Salt Brad. But you'll be tearing it up on the track up north. My son has wrangled a sponsor who is sending a GoPro camera. Warren ( my son) is so excited that he's sent me some drawings of different mounts to mount the camera outside the car! Hope that we can get some video like yours last year. Honestly I feel fairly confident that we'll get into the 130 club, this engine should have enough poke to do it. Justin has built a Big engine for the Green Bug so I'll have some serious competition this year as well. _________________ 71 Westy Roadcow

I made a simple mount with an Empi billet rollbar clamp a piece of 1/16" aluminum and relied on the GoPro 3M tape to hold the supplied mounts to that. It held at 115 and I've been bouncing it all over the place at different venues this summer and it's still good as ever. I think on the gopro site they say the tape is good for 200mph with the camera in the open.

Just got a text from Matt A. the engine builder for the Ghia this year. He and Geoff Hart have been assembling the engine all week. Well tonight it made it's first pull on the Dyno. Matt said I only own the longblock, Geoff has been so jazzed and helpful on this project that he's loaning me everything on the outside of the engine. Instead of my Weber 48 IDA's he put on his 52 mm carbs!! Geoff asked me how I drove the car last year on my 122 mph pass and I said I came out of the hold a bit agressive and nailed in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, I had some wheelspin on the 1-2 upshift. Geoff said I'll need to learn to drive with the throttle, his street engine which is similar to mine in speck will break the tires loose on the asphalt in the higher gears. Honestly I have a huge respect for this engine.
I can't thank Matt, Geoff, Ronnie at Bustoration, and especially John Howard for their help and support on this journey.

I was at Geoffs tonight and watched a couple pulls on the dyno. The engine is a monster, I'll let Matt tell you the numbers! _________________ Stocking distributor of "The Funky Green Panels"

They still need to put the duel springs on and adjust the valves and a few other adjustments, that's when the real numbers will happen. I can say it made more then 3 times the horsepower WW Okrassa. _________________ Stocking distributor of "The Funky Green Panels"

We'll let the engine prove itself on the track. Dyno numbers are all subjective and each Dyno will produce different numbers. I can say I'm extremely happy with what it produced out of the box. Right now I'm at least up 50 Hp from last year. _________________ 71 Westy Roadcow
