Took off dual Webers to install engine. It was broken in on the Dyno before I recieved it, by a reputable builder, so it was running good. It is stumbling at low to mid RPM's and then takes off, in all gears. I changed idles from 55 to 52 to 50's. There is a bit of black smoke blowing out the tail pipes as well. I talked to him and he figures to check for an intake leak at the manifolds, he figures I may have not got a good seal when i reninstalled them. What is the best way to do this. I know I don't have engine info . going to check for leaks first and go from there. Noob so don't want to get into turning screws and floats and the rest. Builder had it dialed

You need to spray something flammable at the head/manifold connection while it idles.Wd40, propane, starting fluid.Any of these will get drawn in the leak if one is present and the motor will pick up in revs, which will indicate a leak. Get the best quality gaskets you can(CB) clean both mating surfaces and put it back together. Let us know how it does. _________________ 71 westfalia
