|
|
The bracket my control arms bolt to on the chassis (via the camber bolts) has two sets of holes. The top holes has some kind of washer thing on them (kind of like the reinforce plates) and that's where I connected the arm to, but was wondering what the bottom holes were for? Was thinking someone might have drilled them to make the car lower. |

I'll take them when I get home, but looking at this picture made me realize the brackets on mine are completely different.
Combining this with the fact John at Topline told me he has, in all his years of working on Supers, never seen an idler arm bracket like mine, leads me to believe someone has done some really weird stuff to my car. |

I think those are 1302 control arms and brackets. I think I know what you mean about the two holes, I believe my 74 super also has those. When I start fixing the front, I was going to renforce those brackets with some gussets because they look a little flimsy to me. _________________ scrapyards are for quitters

Have the same brackets with two sets of holes. The upper holes are the ones to use as the camber bolts use those as leverage when they are being rotated. I have no idea what the bottom set is for, but the holes are mostly covered when you have the control arms in place. |

All of mine have been like that too, only the top ones have the camber bolt retainer plates attached.
The bottom holes is probably just part of the manufacturing pressing. _________________ Quick little bug, you got a Porsche motor in that?
