Has anyone installed a wood steering wheel? It would look great on an early brown interior especially with a wood floor.

I have been thinking of doing this for quite some time now and am wondering if I need to put in a sub floor or is the thin foam enough?

I had to do it. The first trip with the dog and he was all over the place. So since the dog is my co-pilot most of the time I needed to keep the rug

Understand for the dog. Also when camping it's good to have a mat outside the slider so you can wipe your feet before getting in. It's just so nice to either sweep the floor with a wisk or just wipe it down with a damp cloth!

Yes, when you are posting!
If the link to the picture doesn't have the little [Img] brackets at the beginning and end, it will show up like your first post. By highlighting the whole link, and then clicking the IMG button, it puts the brackets there for you.

Try it out!
Hope this helps.

How did you attach the middle seat with the wood there. I want to do the same set up, sometimes I have the seat in, sometimes I don't. Thanks

Did you ever get an answer to this question? I plan on doing something similar and don't like the look of the rails.

Sorry for the delay. I have been Mia for about a year. Busy with work. What I did was drill from underneath use a small bit so you dont bugger up the threads. Just go throughthe sub floor and the hardwood. Get some longer bolts and bolt the rails right on the wood. I trimmed my rail so they were the same length as the seat.

The floors look great, but my concern has been the extra weight. With our limited power I've always been aware of keeping the weight down, particularly when driving through the mountains. Is it not that big a factor because of the small floor area?

LOVE the wood ceiling above the driver's cab! Do you have a how-to? My vinyl stuff is beginning to peel off and I thought wood would be great! Please?

Also, the custom tri-star is pretty awesome! Wish I had wood working skills.

BAH, these things are made to carry weight..

do you make your passangers step on a scale?

I figure anything I can hold in 1 or 2 outstretched arms isn't heavy compared to the vehicle..

LOAD IT UP!!! this isn't a H civic you're trying to hypermile.. you'll be suprised how little the weight makes a differance.

Have you ever driven through the Rocky Mountains with your VW danfromsyr? It's a long, slow drive.
