spend some time with Google maps, including the satelite view
zoom in to areas of interest and search keyword campgrounds in google maps.. they list free ones too _________________ My Soapboxes: Inflation; Handling; Gearing; Decoupling; Swepco |

Fern Canyon Its called Golds bluff state beach. You will have a blast its as remote as it gets for Redwood coastal camping on the Northcoast. PM me if you need help with anything _________________ 1961 Westfalia SO23 Mango Green/Seagull grey

Fern Canyon is very near the Gold Bluffs beach campground (nice camp ground) so I would have thought that stealth camping might not be viable there (it would be a nice spot though). I have stealth camped in this area by going up Bald Hills Rd past Redwood Creek Trail and Lady Bird Johnson Grove. It goes steeply uphill for several miles on gravel until you start to exit from the forest and there are several pull outs that people use for camping. I am not sure of the legality but I think it is outside the park, anyway I was fine for my one night stay...
If I was returning though I would probably pay to camp at Goldbluffs beach campground.

I stayed at Gold Bluff Beach campground. It's a beautiful remote place. It was a little spendy though per night but well worth it. Was there for three days in August mid week and only saw the sun for a few minutes. It was socked in the whole time. _________________ 89 Westy 2.1 Auto |

You should go to the tall trees grove. It is a 45 minute drive up into themountains, 7 of it on a dirt road, and a mile hike into the forest. The grove has some of the biggest and oldest trees in the park, and is the location where the Ewok scenes in Endor were shot. You have to go tot eh kuchel visitor center to get a permit and entrance code for the dirt road leading to the trailhead. the entrance is free, and the grove is awe inspiring and secluded.
