Does anyone know which horn my '55 should have?

I know I have the original horn from a '54 but I'm not sure this is the one. It doesn't match any of my other screw-terminal horns so if anyone recognizes it as correct, please let me know.

The 6/13 area has a unique shape and the backside is a bit taller than a few other screw-terminal horns I own.

Thank you, that does show a different horn.

I am curious if the correct horn should have Bosch tag on the front or not.

52 Horn bracket. Notice how it mounts to the bottom of the drivers floor, as opposed to the bumper bracket bolt.

The 50/51 horn bracket is different again to the 52 one, and has the can horn protective surround .

VW workshop manuals often use older drawings if the mechanics are the same.
They didn't care much about the esthetic details.

I would look to unmolested originals and early photos to confirm.
(Photo's in books often show restored cars/buses not always originals)

Horn from another 1955 Standard.

I'm pretty sure it's original

I don't know what horn is correct but the horn above seems to common to be barndoor only. Maybe it was used on later buses also?
I saw two of these horns for sale at bug-o-rama this weekend, I bought a working one for $5.
Also my 58 Binz has this same horn on it. Barndoor only parts are never that easy to find.

It is my opinion it was used later as well as I know I have seen them around.

I noticed on the one I just posted above that one wire has a boot on it but it doesn't look like the boots actually fit over anything on this horn.

The horn I posted at the start of this thread has a real area for the boot to slide over.

I believe this to be the proper Bosh horn used on Barndoors and probably into some post BD years as well.

Thanks for the update.

For reference, the horn just posted above has a 6/12 marking on the side.

I picked up a 6/13 marked horn at the Sacramento Bugorama last weekend.

The markings and appearance are identical to the 6/12 horn posted by EA57RHD above.

The seller said it was the original horn off his ribbed bumper Panel, which I think was a '58. In combination with some of the comments above, I think the same horn was used through at least 1958.

And to further narrow it down, this is the original horn off my 11/58 Single Cab (59 model Year).

It's a Screw Term Bosh horn, but a different style then what's pictured on the previous posts.

Based on all the info we have so far, and Everetts post above, I think it's safe to assume that the Barndoor style horn was probably used to the end of the press bumper buses 7/1958 Question

I think I found something more or less correct for my 52 BD in ebay. I just bought it - it was a nice price.

What is your opinion?
