Don't know if they are mascots as much as they are decroations. Buoys from past Buses by the
Buoy camp outs. A few buoys given to me this summer from a fellow Sambanista from
Nova Scotia, I met on his way to Bus Fusion. A small yellow bus to prop up my front license
plate. Two plates are required showing in the lovely state of mine. Black cat to remind me
of a family pet. Last but not least is a rosery that was dropped in front of my house by
a parishioner of the Catholic church down the street. I hung the Rosery on my front fence
for all to see for over a year and no one claimed it, so it resides in my Westy. I don't see
why an Episcopalian can't use a rosery!

Next time we fly to the States, we will make the 4 day drive to Florida.
Why would they stock it in Florida, where VW isn't a cultural icon, and not in Cali, were it is?

After 2nd trip to USA, I still can not find a Scooby mascot but I did find a Scooby Doo July 4th Tshirt, a coloring book, cards and 2 DVDs. Guess I'll have to go the ebay route.
I won a door price at Watkin's Glen and will most likely pick Mystery Van "blobs" or foot prints. _________________ '09 2.5L Jetta 5 cylinder, 5 spd, super turbo, see thread in H2O Cooled Jetta, etc...

Our companion "Eddy" in our rental van from Vintage Surfari Wagons. We flew to Cali & rented for a weeklong road trip.
Here we are "flying" up Coast Hwy. #1...
Full disclosure: not actually a Vanagon, but close (it's a '79 Bay Westy) but definitely a memorable mascot! _________________ 86 White Wolfsburg Westy Weekender

syncrodoka: I saw your hula gal on the dash of a 72 bus with a For Sale Sign in the window., today.
And I had an went to Toys R Us and found the whole Scooby mystery crew in articulated format. They had a stuffed toy but it just didn't have that Scooby attitude. So now I have a Scooby on my dash where he belongs. Will take a pic sometime. _________________ '09 2.5L Jetta 5 cylinder, 5 spd, super turbo, see thread in H2O Cooled Jetta, etc...

At Toys R Us they only have Filmore in an expensive set with others. But I did see some neat Thing, Type 181; a Baja Bug in the miniature cars and forget the year of a bus with windows up and down (quite big)at Walmart. _________________ '09 2.5L Jetta 5 cylinder, 5 spd, super turbo, see thread in H2O Cooled Jetta, etc...

We found this female Stegosaurus strolling though the Utah desert. She has had a place on our dashboard since. I've imagined the Stegosaurus moving kind of like our Syncro, slowly and steadily wandering.
