Just a reminder. 
What: Das O.C.T.O. Fest 2011
When: Saturday, October 22, 2011
Where: Long Beach, California
Time: 6:00am-2:00pm
Orange County Transporter Organization presents "Das O.C.T.O. Fest 2011". This is a swap and display meet, for 1967 and earlier buses only, held at Long Beach Veteran's Memorial Stadium, Long Beach, CA. Til 1967 VW type IIs get preferred swap and display spaces which will be on a "First come - First served basis". There will be raffle prizes at the main booth. Refreshment services will be provided by LBVMS Concessions. So drive your transporter...not the Dodge!!!
Long Beach Veteran's Memorial Stadium
5000 E. Lew Davis St.
Long Beach, CA 90808
Enter off Faculty.
General Rules:
NO Onsite Overnight Camping
NO Alcoholic Beverages
NO Motorized Scooters, Bikes, Pocket Rockets, Skateboards, etc.
NO Loud Music
NO Burn Outs
NO Motor Revving
Fees:
1967 and Earlier Buses (Display or Swap): $5.00 Per Person
Vendors (Autos other than 67 or earlier buses): $50.00 Per Space
(Truck with trailer = 2-spaces = $100.00)
Walk-In Spectators: $5.00 Per Person (Kids 12 and Under Are Free)

Everything was finalized today. Yes, It's on a Saturday and the location is now LBVMS. The Long Beach location isn't new to us as you know. The Huntington Beach High School location is no longer available. The parking lot we were using was converted into a softball field. Having the show at LBVMS will give us alot more room as well.

Great news and awesome location! I have always liked the previous OCTO shows at Long Beach because of the layout & plenty of room for swap and display.
It seems that HB High has become too small in the last couple of years anyway with full capacity and gates closed by 7:00 A.M.
I think Saturday works out great too! |

My old stomping grounds" as a kid. worked the consesions. Back in the day they had roller derby, jaloppy derby, college foot ball games,the Circus in the lot area, and eather Miss America or Miss Universe contest at one time. So this place has some history few know of"

Oh yay...
Another parking lot show  Isn't there any place with grass or trees in So. Cal.?
JUST KIDDING !!!
We'll be there for sure. More room means more swap space, means I don't have to get up at 4am to be in line by 5, to get in before the gates close at 6:30. Means we won't be packed in like VW sardines. Means you'll be able to let in Bay Windows, finally.
Or not.
Plus, no worries about foul baseballs and softballs. No uptight swimming parents pissed because there's no parking for their Escalde. No neighbors to complain about VTO's choice of classical 70's funk.
This is gonna be great!!
Ps. Can I still bring my "NO ASPHALT" flask? |

Huntington Beach, Long Beach, any Beach. Single Cab Mafia will be there swapping and buying. Veteran's Stadium is closer to where I live and a much larger venue. So will fit way more Busses, in my opinion. Sounds good, whats the food situation? Hot dog Fred or should we cater ourselves! LOL
