Does anyone have a picture of this option? In an old thread Everett posted he thought it was just a yellow bulb behind the clear flutted lens. Is this the case, or was it a yellow lens or a yellow lens cover as seen on this 356? Thanks'

I found it in the parts list but no description on if it is a tinted lens or not? But if it is a lens for france only with m-code 124 it sounds like it is a tinted lens with no cover. Where the hell can I find those???

I'm sure it's just a yellow bulb behind fluted european lens. Have seen several over the years (Been to a lot of VW shows in France) although I can't find a pic at present. I took some awesom pics of a french SO23 camper at Bad camberg this year with the yellow bulbs but my memory card got corrupted Crying or Very sad
When we used to go on french holidays as a kid I used to help my dad paint the headlamp lenses yellow with a special paint you used to buy. I was only saying a couple of weeks ago on a French holiday how I miss how 'different' it used to feel being in France and now it is just like the rest of europe, including the currency Sad

I have some standard euro headlights for the bus. I may do like you're saying and get some amber headlight paint and paint them from the reverse side. I like the idea of Yellow lenses. If it was just a standard euro clear lens with yellow bulbs why would there be a special lenses for the m124 option only?

Looks good, but I prefer the yellow bulbs. With the lights off it only looks yellow from dead ahead and is a bit less in your face.

If you want yellow bulbs... Just ask Wink
My bus has the french market M code, and the lenses were clear, just like any other car at the time...

The yellow lenses above for a bus are for a mid 60's model. Do you have an early style bus lens in yellow? This gets more confusing.

Nope those are asymmetric from the mid 60's. Looking at the center of the lens look at the right side of the small oval fluted area you will see a triangular ray going towards the edge of the lens. But it is harder to see in your pic than the one above.

European Beetle did not get upright headlights until '68.

As for French headlights, I remember yellow bulbs, glass, or just the reflector.

A lot of US states have laws that specify white headlights, so yellow would not be legal. Check yours.

I have a tourist 65 delivery bus from france. Mine didn't come with yellow tinted head light lenses because it was intended for the states once the first owner was done cruising europe. BUT, I found some amber head light lenses at the classic and bought them because it only seemed right! I know for a fact they are illegal in California, which is where I'm from, but I live in Arizona now and they are legal here, so it worked out!
