Is there only one exhaust tip for all T181s?
Here's one I have, anyone got any info as to what years it fits?

Looks exactly the same as the one on my '70 , so I don't think they are year specific. |

What type of heater do you have in your '70? |

i think there are two kinds of pipes, at least that is what i get by looking at the microfiche. the crossover years are a bit hard to determine without decoding the VIN's which i have not done. there seems to one kind that has a separate tip (like yours in the photo) and one that has the tip as part of the pipe itself. the fiche shows a pipe with the tip separate as shown in your photo, and another pipe where the tip appears to be part of the pipe. i am not certain, but i believe the 73 US market thing has the pipe with intergral tip. here is a photo i got from mike basso of the 73 type of pipe:
i am interested in these details also at the moment because i am assembling parts to install a gas heater in my 74 thing, and i want to do it as correctly as possible, as if it were factory or dealer installed as an option. there seem to have been several versions of the BN4 heater installed over the years, some with a glow plug and spark plug like a bus BN4, and some with a single glow-spark plug like a BA4 or BA6. i am not sure about it, but i think the 73 US things used the later heater with glow-spark plug. i would like to be sure about this, actually, in case anyone knows for certain. _________________ SL |
