|
|
While doing some searches for new seatbelts I ran accross this site..
Despite having a new plastic coolant tower.. I think I have to have this..
http://www.brickwerks.co.uk/shop?page=shop.product...ory_id=164
The site says I can mod for a 2wd.. seems they're swapping sensor type.
I seriously dislike damage prone plastic, it reeks of potential to leave me stranded, which has occured with a couple OE VW plastic components when running in harder conditions, mostly heat related.
Anyone using this piece on a 2wd Auto? |

That's the stock Syncro thermostat housing. You can get that same part stateside. Van-Cafe has a retrofit kit that includes the aluminum housing and the senders, o-rings and bolts. See here: http://www.van-cafe.com/home/van/page_1583_680/aluminum_thermostat_housing_kit_a.html
For a while the oem syncro housing had gone NLA and there was a nice aftermarket billet one available. But it looks like they've gone back to the oem housing now.
GoWesty also offers a similar kit, but theirs uses an aftermarket billet housing. http://www.gowesty.com/ec_view_details.php?id=23281&category_id=79&category_parent_id=
I like both of these kits a lot, but they are also a lot of money. I've never had one of the plastic ones catastrophically fail on me, so I would be hesitant to spend the money. Now the plastic coolant distribution tower behind the bulkhead on the passenger side. That's another story. I'd definitely replace that with a stainless one from Rocky Mtn Westy.
