Those tires don't look like the correct load-rated ones. And be sure to change your fuel lines!! heh.

A green one?! Shocked I've only ever seen the blue one and orange one (both of which I have, and I've had the blue one for decades!). A new hunt begins!

Edit: Found 'em!! Very Happy If anyone wants one, there's a bunch on eBay.

Well there you go! I didn't want to sell it anyway. How often do you see a Vanagon toy? Wink

Looks like an 80 or 81. No lower radiator grill and metal D-pillar vents. Smile

Red line Chase Piece. It's got more bling on the wheels.

Love the "dingy" on the back bumper, I guess that is in case of mechanical failure.

The hot wheels are pretty easy to dismantle for painting. I did it to match my RX7. Usually 3 parts body, windows, chassis/interior.

Checking the SUNAGON Wiki page they other 2 colors were in 82&83 and the green is a 2011 new release.. very cool (for us) to bring back an old model in a new light.

Just picked one of the green ones up a couple days ago...

I found like 5 of them at my local Walmart, so there's no need for Ebay.

Where can I get a proper load hitch for that dirt bike and better springs? The rear is sagging.

Do you have the hub to fender lip dimension for yours?

<----------- Note avatar!

The orange one that I had as a kid is held partially responsible for my current adult obsession (and it still holds a place of honor in my man cave). I love this thread. Going shopping in the toy section this evening after work instead of my nightly trip to the Napa. I'm gonna get one for me and a couple for my kids. Gotta start 'em early.

Our HO model train layout is littered with VW buses.. Splitties, Bays, and even a couple of Vanagons (scale)..Looking for manx and clones. Yet to buy a Thing.

You have to wonder about that model community, though.. The obsession is thick. And there is no time frame limit. A splitty is parked right next to a 30s vintage shay loco..

The wee little loggers work all day in the forest and then drive thier splitties home.. Shocked
