I hope you didn't pay too much for either of those housings in the pics, as they are broken. What I mean by that, is the mounting boss for the lense at the outer edge is missing on both of them.

Yep, the perfect buyer beware situation. Didn't know it mattered until I got it and was installing it. The silver one is broke, thus I got the chrome one from the classifieds. And it was broke in the same place. Ooops. _________________ 72 Squareback

From the classifieds, a 71 factory AC with chrome housings. Hmmmm.

To continue on the theme of silver vs. chrome... Do the late models with the chrome bulbholders have a chrome hood emblem? Or are all of them "brushed chrome"? (I am wanting a chrome one for my 72, but not sure they exist.) _________________ 1962 Type 1

im glad i never come across the silver ones
Its such a crappy color!
esp. in contrast
i have been looking at this company for a while now
maybe rechrome'ish the inside of them
http://www.alsacorp.com/products/killercans/kc/killerchrome.htm
and ive watched the horror of Youtube
but im sure it works perfect in certain situations
they also have "soft feel" paint... like
Quote: |
Soft Feel instantly transforms hard surfaces into sensational new textures that feel like Velvet, Silk or even Rubber! Use it on door handles & side panels, drawer knobs & pulls, furniture armrests, tool & appliance handles and virtually any surface that paint will stick to. |
