Just FYI....

How about this $20 modification that will allow a type 3 to use a type one dipstick?
or the $5 BugPAck solution

correct i have installed a few it takes a long drill bit and its a little hard to find the right size tube the bugpack way works ok it just sticks the dipstick out a little bit wrong angle |

You are most welcome. I agree. Very cool fabrication. I really enjoy folks being creative with stock parts combined to a make a custom part.
I am all fired up to weld all my old HUF VW cut-out keys as handles for dip sticks. Saw one recently and just like it right away.

Is it normal to have a VW thing vin with 10 digits and no letter at the end of the digits and can a top be easily found for it? |

The answers are yes and yes.
The top can be easily found but will set you back some. |
