Timwhy, nice post, but posting pictures like that screws up the browser's ability to automatically resize them and makes it necessary to scroll back and forth to read the ENTIRE first page of the thread. Boo. |

I used one of these single contact replacement bases (with slight filing ) to slip into the Fog lamp hole (drill small hole for wire)
I had to shorten the spring but in small increments, to allow the proper space & tension to keep the bulb tight.
I used a SS riviet to tap it into the Tail circuit from the backside of the ligth housing. took 20mins 1st one then 5 mins 2nd one.
about $2ea at FLAPS
though for my personal camper I've changed to 4" round LEDs for increased night/rain/fog/snow visibility with a more instant and bright light. this image is of my tails/marker lights in 3pm daylight (some shadow from Franconia notch)
(*no permanment body or wiring modification needed)

I'm very pleased to have inherited the above lights I now have a highly visible rear! with a 3rd light added up top of window for brakes _________________ '09 2.5L Jetta 5 cylinder, 5 spd, super turbo, see thread in H2O Cooled Jetta, etc...
