I've finally sold the house in Illinois and have made the move full-time to the keys. Since I returned here in September I've noticed 6 other things in the middle and lower Keys. Anyone on the list here?

Welcome home!! I was raised in the upper Keys. I'm in Homestead now, unfortunately. I'm restoring my Thing bones up right now, but people in the Keys don't freak if you follow them and introduce yourself- trust me. Things are pretty rare in the East and when we see another, it's a special occasion. There are no VW clubs in Monroe, but there are the occasional car shows where your Thing will certainly be noticed. Maybe the Conch Things can unite!! Don't be shy!!!! |

Don't be shy!!! If you are really really Sarah, I am honored to have you and your family in our Thing family. I have three generations of folks driving air cooled. I have very much enjoyed your recent appearance.
More later, K-mann |

OK, who's got the tourqois thing in KW? Went down to show my friend what it was all about and saw it down by Mathers on Thursday afternoon. Got some great pics for ya. Pulled my camera out so fast that condensation clouded the border and it looks like I photoshoped it to look dream-like....very neat. Anyway, PM me so I can get these pics for ya!!! _________________ S&J

I've been seeing that one for a couple of weeks.
There is also a grey one that seems to be parked not too far from Anna's Groceries most of the time.
I'll PM ya with my email
Who's Sarah? |

Digging up an old one here... Is this the turquoise thing you are looking for in the Keys?

That's the one that just (month or so) sold from in front of the vet's office in Marathon. I haven't seen it around town since then. How is it doing? |

It's doing much better now...in desperate need of a valve adjustment when I picked it up. I've loaned it to my mom for the winter, who is a snow bird in Islamorada. Believe it or not, she met an ad executive from Abercrombie and Fitch last week, who wants us to take it to Key Largo today to be photographed for the catalog. I'm going to tag along and try to get some photos of my own.
FYI: There is an orange one (they claim it's a 74, but it looks like a 73 to me) for sale down at MM17 with soft top with side curtains for $5k OBO. |
