Hey gang,
My driver's side square stock headlight keeps filling up with moisture. Is this thing just toast or are there common leak points that can be repaired? Inspection doesn't reveal anything obvious.
Thanks,
Brian. |

There is a sealant around the edges sealing the back to the front. I have had a few leak through there before. Remove it and pour in some alcohol and you should be able to find the leak. |

Sounds reasonable. What is your favorite sealant for these situations?
Thanks. |

Forever, or temp repair?
Goop will last forever.
Silicone won't _________________ T.K. |

I'd recommend you remove the lense and make sure it's completely dried out inside -- I used to put mine over a heater grate or during summers out in the sun for a while with the opening up of course.
I then used some commonly found clear silicon "completely" around and on top of the old seal. So far it's held up well going on nearly ten years although goop could last longer. |

Dual purpose leak finder and cleaner. I didn't mention it but that is why I recommended alcohol vs water to find the leak. |

Just following up on the rememdy here....the bulb was not seating correctly in the holder and not providing a good seal. Refit the build with new retaining rings and problem solved. |
