Any big difference in quality in German pushrod tubes compared to the cheaper aftermarket ones? Is the metal thicker/stronger? Any other reasons to use German ones over the aftermarket ones? thanks _________________ 1963 Ragtop Bug |

My favorite for mild/stock builds is just the stainless windage empi tubes. They look nice and work great. I polish them before the install...

I would always pick German first unless it didn't fit the situation. Meaning if you needed "Windage tubes", Wide mouth tubes for Hight Lift or drive in salt and buy stainless to avoid rusting.
Always use original seals. _________________ -John Cox

On the last 5 builds (haven't leaked a drop ) I have had good luck with Stainless tubes and empi silicone seals, as well as wolfsburg west silicone sump plate seals. _________________ These days people like me are hard to find- we don't give a damn what you think, about what we think. - JR

The white silicon seals hold up for replacing the heads too. I don't know how many rebuilds they can be used though.
As for tubes, they're all pretty much equal I would think. It's a really simple part, hard to get wrong. |

Ditto. The transparent "whitish" EMPI silicone pushrod seals are the best I've ever come across. Maybe they're working on their quality control _________________ Neil.

Does any body make fined aluminum PR tubes?
That way they would act as mini oil coolers.

Why not just run hard lines to a remote oil filter and then put fins on them ?
I think the whole "let's put fins on it to dissipate heat" thing gets taken a little too far sometimes.
Oh and I've also not had any leaks from my EMPI windage tubes and seals. _________________

Hey Casey, I thought you'd be trying to minimise drag on the parts on your car????? Fins are just going to increase turbulence under the motor and slow you down

I think they would act as maxi heat soakers since they're right in the path of the shroud's exhaust. |
