It looks really familiar. Was it at some Farmington shows in the early '90s? If so I may have pics of it. |
It sure was, It was never in the "show" section, but there.

So you did what many of us dream about... Found the one that got away!! Gonna nut up and buy it? |
I got the balls, but I wont let sentiment overide reality on this one.
Its in a complicated, multi car "package deal", none with titles. Buy 11 OR 0....
Its way to far gone. I know better NOW than to buy one for senti-MENTAL reasons. Been there done that, got my stupid T-shirt..
Maybe I can persuade the seller to sell me the doors, just to hang on my wall. Thats just about all thats left of my paint design. _________________ aka Ken {o\!/o}
Its your vehicle- stop askin' for approval-do what YOU like for cryin' out loud
Better to roll em' how you want and wear em' out-than lettin' em' rot out
Its about the going not the showing
Rebuilt to drive not decorate

Although slightly different than what i was used to, this Big Bertha always caught my eye too in those 80s ads. She is cute to me even still to this day.. Love those words by Skim a few posts back (pg38). Very relatable no matter where or how you were dubbing. It was the time of our lives and we were absorbed every minute thruout.. Most of whats on here is different than what I was used to admiring but without them the scene doesnt have as big of an impact or the staying power IMO. That is why we are all different and words like "no one cares" should be kept to themselves. Personally, if I dont like something I move on and that is that.. Even I've matured, a little! |

Was going thru some stuff and found these pics taken at the IVWA Summer Nationals. Yes, once upon a time the nats came to Georgia, specifically the dragstrip in Commerce. This was around the late 80's, early 90's, I can't remember exactly which. But I do remember it was hot as blazes that day.........

Don Mehling I believe still owns that car. I saw him run at Bug In 32 and 33, if memory serves correctly. It now has a turbo engine out back, pretty damn fast, too! Car looks great. Doesn't have the same rims anymore, though... can't recall what was on there last time I saw it. |

Ill take that^^^ with some polished 2litres also and ill be just as content to call it my everyday beater. One dude comes to mind, Rick Casillas from my high school who even rolled one with 8-spoke banana wheels and still managed to rock it. Shit I knew some dude up north in Prescott who rolled one w/rivieras and it still looked groovy. Shit maybe all this time I have been a fan of the BiG Bertha and I didnt realize it till now.. She is cute and a little pudgy that I just had to bring her out to the forefront |

I saw the chop top (Warren Williams I think) at Bristol 2-3 years ago. It still looks like it was just finished.

Here is a picture of a 74 fat chick that my brother and I built. A guy in our home town like our bug so he had a old 74 bug and he hired my brother and I to customize his bug. This car was given to his 14 year old son for his first car... lucky bastage.

That lowered bay window in the background has to rank right up there with the first lowered buses on the road. I didn't see a low bay until the mid 90's at the earliest. _________________ nothing |
