Its just a buffed out old respray. Shines up pretty nice tho. I like it. Its a fun little car. OG 40hp and sweet OG interior. Replaced front and rear window seals, added pop outs, brand new brakes, new clutch, reseal the engine and did a clean up detail job(semi gloss tins), drop spindles, 5.5 inch beam(with towers), OG 4.5s and early 6s, trouble shot all the wiring, added a 6v optima, put a new ragtop cover on, changed the bumpers for OGs, replaced a few odds and ends and there she is. Shes for sale if anyone is interested 8500 on fake earlies.

Not tight at all. I was surprised, I bent the tower more that I needed to. I had about 1/4 inch clearance on each side.

I like that Oval CRG. If I saw that in '89 my jaw would have dropped. Just noticed the body colored moldings. Didn't want to shave the holes?

I left them on to blend the strips with the paint. That`s the only VW that I know of that had that look.

I got to meet Trayle and see his ride up close this past weekend. I loved the old-school kill switch and how they integrated around the VW emblem on the hood. I havent seen one of those since the 70s or early 80s prior to car alarms when they used to put those on the front fenders of american cars. It was a trip to see one that has made it this long....
