Modoc
now that you used the rear hub from your bicycle how are you going to get to work
I'm surprised no one make a cheap copy of the Berg linkage, it would so easy to make, I would but I'm not a big fan of shroud mounted linkages because the shroud can move around a bit throwing the synchronization off.

Makes the Scat linkage a very reasonable price.
The amount of time and material to build that has to be at least 3 times in cost and in weight of the Scat linkage. _________________

It could just be my imagination, but think about this....
a four cylinder engine always has some torque shake, you know it tends to kind of "rotate" on the axis of the crank. Such is nature
The engine mounts being on the bottom, there is a degree of side-to-side vibration at the level of the carbs
The regular kadron linkage would be a lot more likely to vibrate due to this, compared to my linkage(both sides pull) or a hexbar type
Vibration could really wear out the throttle shaft bushings.......
Sometimes it is better to adjust the linkage with the engine running, the vibration kind of takes the play out of the joints, you know
should I balance both links to within one gram? |

"Does something look wrong?"
Yes. You need a Miller Light can on the left side of the fan shroud for balance.

Yes,
Not only does it not line up but now you have to find a new place to put your coil since it goes right through your mounting area.
You would be better off getting the scat linkage.......it works. Period..... _________________

Do you really think I'm worried about relocating the coil? That's the easy part..Obviously I can go out and buy a new linkage, but that's not the point here. Someone did a lot of work to make this linkage, and I'm wondering if they just designed it around an aftermarket shroud. I may just cut the throttle pull piece off and weld it back on over to the left a bit. _________________ 1963 Ragtop Bug |

I figured it out, the spacers on either side were reversed, so its lined up now _________________ 1963 Ragtop Bug |
