I'm doing a bunch of new wiring and I'm trying to get the upper rail units out. The ones that the curtains hang on. Not the actual curtain rail but the whole unit that the curtains screw in to. I don't know the name of the part. Anyway, is there a thread or does anyone know how to remove these? I need to run wire behind and down the mid pillar.

Thanks

Scott

Curtain trays on either side of the van bolt in front to the ceiling with three (I think) bolts) and to the upper cabinet or the closet in the rear. I have not removed the passenger side one but have removed the driver's side one. Watch out for wires when you drop that tray. You might need a friend to help support it or have a stack of milk crates handy so as not to stress the wiring.

Which side and what are you wiring up? I've taken the passenger side completely off to run a wire
for a dome lamp. The drivers side I took off the front piece to run a wire from the closet forward, for
some LEDs over the sink. My Westy is an 87 don't know if its different than yours, but you have to
remove that front piece to get to the screws that secure the curtan rails/shelf first.

I'm removing the driver's side rail. I'm running a bunch of wire for my solar system. I've got an 80watt panel mounted inside my roof cargo spot up front which I ran wire inside. I'm planning on running is down the mid pillar on the driver's side down to the base cabinets. I'm also going to be putting some type of outside connection to plug an additional 80watt panel for extended stay.

I've stripped out all the interior to completely sound proof the van as much as possible. The rail is the final piece I need to remove to work on the wiring.
