|
|
Just recently bought this square back and has a built motor with webber carbs and gene berg manifolds. I need to have the carbs rebuilt but can't find any markings on the carbs as to which model they are. The guy that looked at them thinks they are 40 dcnf's but want to make sure that's the case before ordering a rebuild kit. Also anyone know what size filters these take. The P/O ruined the filters so I need new ones.
Thanks for any and all help |

Look like 40 DCNF's to me, from what I have read I think Berg liked to use those carbs in his old setups. |

^^^ I agree ^^^ You could see if Berg's have rebuild kits and the retangular air filters but they are anal about seeing the original receipt of purchase otherwise they might not help you. Pierce Manifolds is another good source of DCNF parts and there's always Art @ Air Cooled Engineering if you don't want to tackle the rebuild yourself. _________________

My guess is 42 dcnf set from Berg. I don't think he did any 40s. |

Wow thanks a lot guys for the quick responses. I did find Pierce manifolds when I was googling rebuild kits for the dcnf carbs. From what I briefly read they have the most complete rebuild kits but are a little more expensive. It looks like the 40,42 and 44 rebuild kits are all the same according to pierce manifolds website. Anyone know off the top of their head if this is true?
I will give Berg a call or email and see if I can get any help from them or not. It's always worth a shot. I will have someone rebuild and retune the carbs as I still am not comfortable with carbs yet and this is my daily. |

If the part numbers are ground off it's likely a berg dcnf kit, yeah, he did that! |

Yes the kits are all the same. I have rebuilt lots of the dcnf carbs I like them and they work great. I know you have 42 berg dcnf's if the numbers are ground off the flat side of the float bowls. |

must have missed this, but does the kit from Pierce include this kit that Gene Berg offers as an addition to the main rebuild kit?
