I have no idea. For me, saving receipts would be nothing more than a chance the wife would find them.
That said, there are very few suprises. I can't think of any expensive items were I felt Bostig went cheap.
You can do a sound conversion for the exact number Bostig quotes. The variable is how good a deal you can score on your junk yard items. Find the whole car fresh in a yard and you should be able to get everything and swing a package price.

What gets you is the "while I'm in here" items. Clutch, coolant lines, radiator, CVs, timing belt, water pump, transmission flush, fuel lines, fuel pump. An argument can be made to RR all those items while the engine is out and the systems are empty.
I did but I spread it out over the winter so the sticker shock was dampened.

gregor group 9 spent 7k with a crate motor- without the aluminum water dist. or throttle body elbow upgrade. stock oil pan too. each of those is like 300.00
crate motor cost 1500.00

Not to derail my own thread but, here I go anyway.
I did a search and could not find what I was looking for.
A while back, I remember reading a thread where the German Transaxle purple torque converter was causing problems with the Bostig setup.
2 years ago I had my auto rebuilt by German Transaxle and I have that purple torque converter.
If someone knows where that thread is, please point me to it.

Also, please continue to add your final Bostig cost.

My cost, group 10, V2 was $6000, that included the high clearance oil pan and Scan Gauge, new coolant line splice from Terry K, sound deadening for the front area and all doors, front window scraper seals, fuel tank reseal, fog lights and switch from Van Cafe, and new plugs, wires, and injector clean for the 30K mile salvage motor. I sold my 1.9 for the cost of the Zetec, so I am not including that cost. Also put in a lower mileage transaxle with a new clutch from a part van I bought, (also matching low mileage ODO) but not including that cost because I sold more pieces from the part van so I made a profit on it. Very Happy

My first conversion was in group 2 v2.0. The total for the kit and other needed parts was $4900. I bought my zetec with 1,600 miles for 400. And sold the wbx'er for 500.
Right now I'm working on a 2010 turbo conversion. The total price is yet to be determined. But I'm converting/upgrading a v.1 to the 2010.
The latest Low mileage zetec i got was free. Smile

I was in Group 7 V2.0 and I took advantage of the brand new crate engine. Total cost was just above $6000.
It took me a total of three days to install it. The worst part was dropping the old 1.9 and cleaning out the engine bay of non essentials.

I know they suspended auto sales for a couple months until they found the root cause of that issue. Not sure what it was exactly as I have a MT, but it related to the CPS. The kit now comes with a new pot for the CPS and a shim to install if you are an auto.
I'd contact Bostig directly on this issue. They will give you the straight answer.

Depending on where you live, the low mileage cheap motors are hard to score. I ended up with a high mileage cheap motor. Maybe that's just the PNW. I wish I had pulled the trigger on a crate, but I was trying to save up the cash and they sold out from under me.
Worst case for me, I get stuck with a $400 lemon and replace it with a $1000 longblock.

The whole junkyard experience is a game. Do you trust the guy who says he has a low mileage motor sitting on a crate that has great compression numbers? He only wants $900. Rolling Eyes

I found a just wrecked complete car. Scored the entire motor, PS pump, airbox, and every bolt/bracket I could take for $450. It's got close to 100k on it, but I know why it was in the yard and I know it runs.

Oh, and almost every motor I looked at had water in the spark plug galley when I pulled them. Despite asking them to check on the phone. Didn't really instill enough confidence to have a motor shipped from out of state.

I called a large local Salvage yard.

They have 10 or so Z tec’s on the shelf $300 bucks each. Some are less than 45,000 miles.
Power steering pump is $25
Didn’t ask about the ranger computer, I am going to guess $75 on the high end.
Then there is the Rock auto $350 list of things to buy.

This is all I can see that is needed from the directions on the Bostig web site.

Does anybody see any items I am missing that need to be added in?

That's the complete list of stuff you "need" to complete the conversion.
Depending on condition, you may want to add parts to freshen up the engine. Spark plugs, wires, coil, timing belt, tensioners, etc are all pretty cheap and easy to do on the stand while you are cleaning the motor.
That's about $300 right there if you go nuts.

A/C and power steering brackets are expensive from Ford if your engine doesn't have them. Check yourm engine well for crash damage. A cracked throttle body or manifold is really expensive. I had a small crack in my timing belt cover. Didn't think it was a big deal but it ended up costing $70 from Ford.

Plus you will need budget for some shop supplies if you don't
have them handy. Various threadlockers and sealants. Plus oil,
antifreeze,brake cleaner,and oil filters.
As long as you caught Andrews post where you missed
The MAS and alternator you got everything covered.
I got my ECU for 35.00 it was pretty cheap. I may
have a couple of the hoses still new for cheap and
A power steering pump at cost if your interested.
After doing own install and a few others I ended up
with some extra parts. I have a transmission project
I am trying to save for.

Get a MAF sensor and airbox from the yard. If your are using some other air box you still need the MAF.

My initial final cost was around $5500 (V.2 G. 8 ) That includes a $450, 20K mi engine , salvage PS pump and airbox w/MAF, all the RockAuto stuff, and a new lifetime warranty alternator. I got the engine from a local yard so I could look before having it shipped and potentially dealing issues which sounded like a drag. I have since added the oil pan and the new T-stat housing bringing the cost to around 6000. The kit was only $4100 at the time though.

Well, maybe I'm stating the obvious, but you need the rest of the bostig conversion kit, which costs something like 4 or 5 grand. Includes adapter plate, flywheel, engine carriers, custom throttle body, new custom programmable ECU, new wiring harness, installation instruction and support, etc. Etc.

When you say "ECU" do you mean the optional hand held programer?
Also, I think it is a throttle body adapter.

He means the Ranger computer that you already know about. They are plentiful and not too expensive.

If you anticipate wanting the oil pan in the future, just do it now. The thing is a royal pain to install with the engine on the stand. I can only imagine the swear words that I would invent doing in the vehicle.

Hero419, When custum ECU is mentioned this is the ECU that the Bostig guys set up for you and send with the kit. I believe the programmer is now an optional item.
You are correct that it is a 90degree throttle adaptor, not the throttle body itself.
