Let's see them original squareback rack's and even the home made one's tooooo Curious to see what's out there as far as the squareback racks are concerned. I didn't know my style/make existed until I found one and I only know of one other rack like mine on the east coast.

Here's my swedish full length AMAG rack. Got this one awhile back !!! I know there's more squareback rack's then there are for the other type 3's so let'em rip bro's Evil or Very Mad another learning opportunity here (atleast for me Embarassed )

Here's a volvo rack that a few people roll with. With a few trick's you can make them fit pretty nice on your squareback Wink

This is VW too but sure if it was VW of America.
I used to have one on my old '65 and it came off a '70 that they guy bought new and he said he got it from the dealer. Car was stolen but the rack was in his garage.

I think it was German but now I can't remember.
I'm pretty sure it was just a "universal" rack.
I sold it to someone in Germany a few years ago at the VW Classic.

Check out this rack. This was on my square when I bought it. All the wood slats run side to side and were old and since blew off! I took the rack off and will put some new slats on it. Who made this thing?

And then I saw an ad in a different thread:

That is the closest thing I've seen to my rack. Any ideas about where it came from?

Oh yea, has anybody seen or have any shots of Jer*Fabs HWE racks for the squareback yet? Perhaps I'd go for one of those!

Yes, those stock racks were screwed into the roof.

Sometimes the rubber seals wore out and the roof rotted out underneath the mounts too.

Here's another squareback rack that wasn't posted on this thread so I thought I would just ad to it...Not common but has all the original complete and correct hardware on it...Very strong and sturdy rack...
